Tibet traditional nursery rhymes are an important part of the Tibetan folk music. The autonomous region has made more efforts to collect folk music of all kinds and forms and has achieved some significant research results including some nursery rhymessince China’s reform and opening up policy began. But the research about nursery rhymes in the Tibetan region is far behind the research of folk songs. What’s more, the research about the nursery rhymes education in the region is almost blank. Several studies have shown that nursery rhymes play arather significant role in the aspect of basic education, which makes it necessary to make a deep research about this field.This paper takes the traditional nursery rhymes in Tibet area as the research object, mainly using the fieldwork method of ethnomusicology. Through all the nursery rhymescollected, it takes some as samples, which are all first-handmaterials and tries to analyze the original materials and the new contents collected from the music education point of view. And it mainly focus on the analysis of its educational characteristics educational value.The paper consists of five parts which include the introduction and chapter one to four. The introduction briefly states the research purpose, the research meaning, the research current state and the research method of the Tibetan traditional nursery rhymes.The first chapter Describes the basic situation of the Tibet region involved with the research and introduces the children’s life background and the main Tibetan culture partition and the background of music culture. And the basic backgrounds in this chapter are not only the backgroundsof Tibetan children’s life, but also the backgroundsof the production and the life of nursery rhymes.The second chapter mainly introduces the classification and division of Tibetan nursery rhymes. It classifies the nursery rhymes into different kinds according to their contents and briefly introduces the relationship between Tibetan nursery rhymes and general folk songs.The third chapter analyzes theeducational characteristics of the traditional Tibetan nursery rhymes. Decided by the characteristics of thenurseryontology, Tibetan traditional nursery rhymes has four educational characteristics which include entertainment, pleasure, artistry and times. The chapter analyzes each characteristics of these and finds out that these characteristics together decide the education effects of nursery rhymes education.The fourth chapter analyzes the educational value of the traditional Tibetan nurseryrhymes. Nurseryrhymeseducation belongs to the scope of the basic education, which plays an important part in children’s physical and mental health. This chapter specifically analyzes the traditional Tibetan nurseryrhymes from the aspects of the value of basic education, the value of aesthetic education and the value of culture heritage education.
