Physics experiment is an important part of physics curriculum; it is a vital guarantee of carrying out the curriculum’s objectives and improving students’ scientific literacy; it’s also an effective way to stimulate students’ interest in learning and desire of seeking knowledge. But at present, many middle schools and teachers in rural areas, due to various reasons, pay little attention to physics experiment teaching, which has affected students’ all-round development. In addition, experimental teaching in physics has failed to play its proper role. Therefore, it is necessary to study the physics experiment teaching in rural middle schools.First, the paper has performed an investigation as well as analysis of physics experiment teaching of countryside middle schools in impoverished mountainous areas of my county. Through questionnaire, interview, the paper has summed up some problems existing in physics experiment teaching of these rural middle schools. In the meanwhile, we have analyzed the causes of these problems and has also put forward some strategies and suggestions based on that. Second, a study on the development and utilization of experimental curriculum resources in these rural middle schools of my county has been carried out so that I can better understand the problems existing in physics experiment teaching. Last, according to the actual situation of my own school, I chose two parallel classes(One is the experimental class; the other is the comparative class) to study the physics experiment teaching in contrast. By contrasting several monthly exams’ results, we found that the experimental class, which has more physics experiment teaching and conducts experiments more flexibly, not only shows stronger interest in learning but also makes more progress both in monthly exams and in daily study and thinking.Through the study, the paper hopes to provide certain theoretical basis for physics teachers in rural areas; it also wishes to arouse more teachers’ emphasis on experimental teaching and to strengthen the research of experimental teaching, which can improve teachers’ level of teaching major knowledge and also promote the all-round development of students.
