Junior high school geography is a line of education teaching workers will be confused by a series of geography education teaching problems of students.such as low learning efficiency, classroom learning behavior and geography education teaching problem which does not finish the confusion.Investigate its reason, largely due to geographical study enthusiasm is not high, geography learning motivation is weak. Combined with the analysis of the literature found in south China area junior high school student’s geography research lack of learning motivation. Whether in south China area middle school geography learning motivation level is, how to improve. As the starting point, guangdong province zhangmutou middle school as an example,the author studied the present situation and countermeasures of geography learning motivation in junior high school students.In this study, the main research methods include questionnaire, interview communication method, literature method, classroom activity, statistical analysis and other methods.It’s found that:(1)This school in the study area of the external and internal learning motivation in junior high school students are at a higher level, The internal motivation and external motivation compared with slightly more.During different grade, grade seven students geography learning motivation is higher than grade eight students; Between boys and girls, Geography learning motivation of girls was obviously higher than that of boys. (2) The influencing factors of geography in junior high school students learning motivation two aspects including the students themselves and the peripheral environment.Itself including personal values (interest, attitude, good habits) and the ability of learning in person (the ability to deal with difficulties, individual geographic learning ability). Peripheral mainly includes consciousness of people around the geographic factors such as geographical concept, the way of teachers’ teaching and school’s attitudes about geography. (3) The geography in junior high school students learning motivation to arouse and cultivate students’main countermeasures or Suggestions from the ways of students, teachers, schools and the education administrative department.① For students, they should to correct their own geographic learning attitude, cultivating geographical interest in learning, develop good geography study habits. ②For teachers, they need to innovate their geography teaching idea; try to improve its geography professional; change the way of teaching due to add class interesting. ③For schools,they need more geography activities; set up and the actual organization operation in Geography Staff Room; According to actual conditions, reasonable arrangement of each grade geography course; To update the geographical teaching hardware devices.④For the education administrative department, it is recommended that the geographical position and rich of discipline and improve area school geography education resource. Such as raising the area proportion of junior high school geography teachers professional distribution, set up the geographical practice class base and so on.The advantage of this study lies in:Firstly, the author into geography research data to obtain the real classroom practice. Secondly, due to the geographical research is given priority to with high school students learning motivation and south China geography research materials lack of learning motivation, this study in junior high school students in south China as the research object, the most innovative research vision. The most important thing is to put forward specific practical countermeasures and Suggestions to enhance the level of geography in junior high school students learning motivation.
