Qualitative method is adopted in this research, which involves observing in the field and talking with teachers and children. In the research, we mainly study the concept,feature,function and factor of children’s "sorry" behavior.In an interactive event,If a kid says "sorry"to express his/her apology when he/she has conflict with others,we define this behavior as "sorry" behavior.By the analysis of these cases,the researcher summarizes the characteristics of this behavior,respectively is:(a) children often need to be reminded by people who are offended;(b) children easily regard the unintentional offense as intentional offense;(c) most of the "sorry" behavior is forgiven by people who are offended;(d) the behavior is seldom accompanied with other means of compensation;(e) the behavior is easily influenced by teachers;(f) the behavior has gender characteristics.In the category of "sorry" behavior, the researcher carries on a classification to the behavior from three dimensions.The first one,according to the "sorry" function,we divide into single functional "sorry" type and multifunctional "sorry" type; The second, according to the children’s will to say "sorry", we divide into proactive "sorry" type,submissive "sorry" type and refused "sorry" type; The third, according to the severity of the offense, we divide into minor offensive "sorry" type and serious offensive "sorry" type. Each type can be carried out specific segments.From the subject of children’s "sorry" behavior,the researcher also analyzes the function of this behavior. To the issuer of the behavior, it’s a part to monitor his/her own behavior.Besides, it can reduce anxious and guilty feelings, reduce the risk of being punished, maintain the "good child" image, and repair the relationship with others. To the recipient of the behavior, it is a kind of spiritual comfort.Then, the researcher investigates the cause of "sorry" behavior from the internal and external factors.When the features, types, functions and factors are summarized, the researcher discusses the roles of parents and teachers among the "sorry" behavior and gives out related recommendations.Finally, the researcher makes a reflection of this study to end the thesis.
