Extra-classroom homework is an important link in the teaching process and is an important component part of curriculum reform. Extra-classroom homework is the most common practical activity for students in learning knowledge, developing thinking, and fostering capabilities, is an important means of assisting students in reinforcing knowledge and forming capabilities on language arts, and is an important path to fostering favorable study habits in students and promoting the development of student personality, wisdom, and creative talents. Extra-classroom homework is an extension and continuation of classroom teaching and is a means and path to improving educational outcomes, and is also an important window for the exchange of information between students and teachers. As such, focusing on and examining the issue of homework has become a very important point of penetration into focusing on and examining student study activities, and is an important angle on our examination of the time-effectiveness of education and teaching.On the foundation of previous research, guided by the teaching ideas of "comprehensive Chinese language" concepts and relying on specific teaching practices, and in order to resolve the conflicts existing between the new requirements posed by new curriculum reforms on extra-classroom homework design and the current state of high school language arts extra-classroom homework design, this article attempts to summarize optimality theory, Constructivism, and theory of multiple intelligences, and carries out theoretical verification and analysis of the impact of such areas as standards, proposes the principles optimization design in high school Chinese language homework should follow, carry out specific categorization of high school Chinese language extra-classroom homework, and devise related optimization standards, strive to seek valuable breakthroughs in the optimization of high school Chinese language homework, content, format, and evaluation on Chinese language extra-classroom homework design, thereby making real use of the role of Chinese language extra-classroom homework in the Chinese language teaching process, and thus make the research on optimization of extra-classroom homework of high school Chinese language an important vessel by which students’comprehensive and personalized development can be truly promoted.
