After the reform and openness, the economic development and dynamic technology making a huge difference to humans’ life, but also inevitably accompany with various environmental problems. Because of this, all over the world are concerning and pay attention to environmental education. Since 1973 China began to developing the environmental education in primary and secondary school, till now has made some achievements. But environmental education in China has not been developing to a completely system even in such a serious environmental condition. Especially in materials, there is no special materials for primary environmental education. Most of schools are use school-based materials or social materials written by scholars. It is insufficiency and unsystematic to the use of environmental education in classroom teaching. Therefore, for the elementary environmental education, we still need the existing textbook to infiltrate environmental education.Primary school is a starting stage and an important stage in basic education, also one of the import phase for environmental education. Taking the environmental education into the primary Chinese discipline is an important part way for penetration. The status research on environmental education content in the Chinese book is a reality-oriented meaning to the present elementary school environmental education. In this paper, based on the 2011 version of the pep primary school language teaching materials, Implement Guidelines to Environmental Education for primary and secondary schools and Chinese Curricula Standards in Compulsory Education as the research basis, the use of literature research and content analysis, from content selection and layout to analyze the primary Chinese language materials. The paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter Ⅰ-Introduction, Chapter Ⅱ-status quo analysis, Chapter Ⅲ-Content selection analysis, Chapter Ⅳ-Layout and design analysis, Chapter Ⅴ-Recommendations. The study found that the choose of environmental education on the pep Chinese language materials for elementary school pay attention to knowledge, emotional feelings and the ability on oral communication for environmental problems. The recommendations as following:content selection might be true to life, prompt outside practical activities effectively; focus on the link and connection in the materials; materials’ layout and design should be fit with the students’learning period; design interdisciplinary environmental education practice activities.
