A Comparative Analysis Of The Technical Characteristics Of Backhand Technique Of Elite Male Table Tennis

Table tennis has always been the strongest sport for China.As the overall development of table tennis skill, penhold attacking and shakehand attacking progress into a more active state, especially the well development of pen-hold backhand.The backhand in pen-hold and shakehand position also progress and manage to leave no blind spot in the game.Backhand technique using rate is very high in today’s high level of competition. The backhand technical quality has been directly controlled game.So, the various backhand techniques require athletes to be more careful and strict. Offense need to strengthen gradually and defense conversion also should be more reasonable.This paper uses documentation method, video observation, mathematical statistics method, and comparative analysis method to analyze and summarize the scores of two male Chinese elite table tennis players in shake-hand position and two in penhold position in 28 games by using the backhand technique.Therefore the characteristics, common and regular problems of the four players backhand technique can be summarized, compared and analyzed respectively. This provides a scientific theory and reference to further improve China’s table tennis players backhand technique level.The research conclusion shows:1.The main characteristics of Wang Hao and Xu Xin’s penhold backhand technique are strong in overall, reasonably controlled and flexible in methods.But the stability in the offensive technology backhand twist and backhand pull needs to improve. The backhand block’s error rate in the defense technology is too high, so the defense is weak.2.The main characteristics of Zhang Jike, with Malone’s shake-hand backhand technique has strong lethality, and relatively balanced scoring rate, especially the backhand twist technique, whose the ball-back line is primarily diagonal. But the short backhand swing technology still needs to improve.3. the comparison between penhold and shake-hand positions indicates:In the control technology, the success rate and the frequency of use in penhold’s swing-short and split-long are higher than that of the shake-hand position.In the attack technique, the shake hands grip backhand twist and pull is more stable and has greater threats than the pen hold backhand.In the defense technology, the overall defense efficiency of shake-hand position is higher than that of the penhold position, except in the backhand shot.4.the comparative study of players in penhold and shake-hand position with backhand technology lines shows that:In the backhand technology, penholders changes lines relatively more than shake-handers.But according to the score rate and the success rate, the shake-hand position is relatively high in the left two lines and road line, while the penhold position is better in two lines on right hand.
