| the leisure sports of women in Tang dynasty showing a spectacular and colorful event which has poured into the fresh blood for the development of sports, is an important part of leisure sports,and interpolate a glorious chapter for the development of China’s history of women sports.This paper from the background of women’s period in the Tang Dynasty as the starting point,research object is the unique leisure sports of women, and use of history,literature, sociology, women’s studies and other related disciplines and theory review women’s leisure sports in the whole process of all-round development,explores its reason, so that hope to be able to make modest research on the problem of it.The thesis is composed by eight parts. First, the preface mainly doing the simple explanation about the purpose and significance of the study. Second, summarizes the current research situation of this subject briefly. Third, make basic description about the participation of women in leisure sports before the Tang Dynasty. Fourth,on the analysis to the performance and characteristics about women’s leisure sports in the prosperous period of Tang dynasty,Fifth, further analysis about the development of it in the prosperous period of Tang dynasty. Sixth,the unstable political situation in the late period of Tang dynasty led the open social atmosphere to the conservative,the feudal system pattern of "roles" curb the development of it, so that cause it appeared to decline after Tang Dynasty.Seventh, the development of women’s leisure sports in the prosperous period make a revelation to today’s: the development of it could promote women’s awakening of self-consciousness;combined with cultural diversity and localization phase is prerequisite of it;female aesthetic determines the depth of it; the propaganda from government can promote its breadth;Today’s women’s leisure sports should abandon the feudal dross.
