A Study On The Approaches To The Ecological Civilization Of College Students In Ethnic Areas

The concept of ecological civilization has already become a hot topicnowadays. Scholars have done a lot of researches on the "concept of ecologicalcivilization in university education". These studies focused on the following twoaspects. The first one is the "concept of education connotation of ecologicalcivilization", and the second one is "ecological civilization concept on theimplementation methods of education." However, it is rare to find some systematic,comprehensive studies on the "concept of ecological civilization in universityeducation in ethnical areas”. Therefore, this paper is based on this point of view,focusing on the area in the Southeast and Southwest of Guizhou Province, by usingquestionnaires, literature review and other methods, to analysis the "nationalecological area university student’s civilization educational approaches.In the first part, the article introduces the research background, the fundamentalresearch purpose, and related-research status in domestic and overseas. Throughstudying the previous research and literature review, to conclude the status of research“the concept of ecological civilization in ethnical areas," and it explains thesignificance of further research and feasibility.In the second part, it introduces the concept of ecological civilization and the conceptof ecological civilization in university education. First, it demonstrates the origin ofthe concept of ecological civilization. They were derived from the Chinese traditionalculture ecological thinking, the scientific development of Marxist ecology. Moreover,it states the meaning of Ecological Civilization, and it describes the definition and theconcept of ecological civilization in college education. Last, to clarify the meaning ofeducation，the study provides theoretical support.In the third part, it summarizes the ecological civilization construction in minorityareas of Guizhou, and it briefly introduced the basic situation and ecologicalcivilization in the southeast, mid-South, and southwest of Guizhou. Additionally, itoverviews the methods of investigation of the status quo of ecological education ofuniversity students in the three regions. In this paper, five universities’ students inthese three regions conducted a survey on the following parts: the cognition ofecological civilization, ecological practice of civilized behavior, ecologicalcivilization education in university education and ecological civilization approaches.The data is obtained by analyzing the survey, which found the current situation ofecological civilization education for university students is not optimistic. In the fourth part, base on the findings, it analyses the current status of nationalregional university education on the concept of ecological civilization. The firstreason is that the university education emphasis on ecological civilization is notenough. The second one, which is lacking in systematic teaching theories ecologicalcivilization. The third is the limited teaching faculty and the fourth reason is that thestudents need to increase their awareness about ecological issues.In the fifth part, based on the previous investigation, analysis and research,educational approaches are proposed on the concept of ecological civilization inuniversity students in ethnical areas, which includes the construction the minorityareas of ecological education system, developing the teaching resources with localcharacteristics of Ecological civilization in ethnical areas, and strengthening nationalecological civilization education teaching staff, to enhance the ability of nationalpractice area college students to participate in the construction of ecologicalcivilization.The innovation of this paper is to combine the characteristics of the educationalresources in the regions and the ecological way of research. It systematically analysisthis point and propose the specific measures to national university students’ ecologicalcivilization educational approaches, and provide a reference of the national ecologicalcivilization in universities.
