A Study On The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Contemporary College Students' Life

The outlook on life is people’s perceptions and views towards life. It is also akind of value held by people. The exploration of life is a rather long history inWestern as well as in Chinese civilizations. Thoughts of philosophers on life and itsvalues provide us with solid theoretical basis which helps for our furtherunderstanding and perfection towards the meanings of life.Gradually,college students’ outlook on life has become one of the critical areas ofscholars’ research at home and abroad due to recent years’ increasing incidentshappened in campus,for instance,cases of violence,suicide,and phenomena of animalcruelty. Nevertheless,as college students,the leading group of the society,presentadvanced pop culture,their behaviours directly relate to the future of society.Consequently, the exploration of college students’ outlook on life is beneficial tocomprehend their true conditions of it,and it will help them to set a positive andhealthy outlook on life. Besides,it can contribute to maintain the harmony as well asstability of campus and even the society.This paper is divided into five main parts:The first part is about introducing the research background, significance, ideas,methods and difficulties. It also presents the innovation of this paper that the methodof adopting investigations can analyze college students’ outlook on life in amultidimensional way, which breaks through the singularity of existing research aboutlife education in colleges and universities.The second part aims at defining the core concepts of the topic related, such asthe life, outlook on life and so forth. After that, it will unfold its philosophy during thehistory and general research situations of college students’ outlook on life at home andabroad, which can be regarded as the theoretical basis for the research.The third part presents the investigation and interviews of college students’outlook on life in Guizhou colleges and universities. The result shows that currentcollege students hold positive outlooks on life as a whole and most of them cherishthe values of life. It also reveals that they have correct pursuit of life value and areable to cope with setbacks calmly. However, some other students take a negativeattitude towards life which can be reflected in the following aspects: they fail to treatlife rationally and can not deeply appreciate the meaning of life, which is embodiedspecifically in the lack of life knowledge, the weakness of life safety awareness, inadequate social ability and unclear life goals.The fourth part will analyze that the reason of college students’ negative lifeviews is due to combined inner and outer factors. The Internal cause is that collegestudents’ values are susceptible to the influences of the external environment and theirpsychological development is not mature, while the influence of social environment,school education, family factors are the external cause.The fifth part argues that the positive and healthy outlook on life includesknowing life, understanding life, cherishing life and protecting life, then eventuallycreating and enhancing the value of life. In addition, this paper will put forward somestrategies and advices about cultivating college students’ positive and healthy outlookon life from the following aspects: the main body of college students, the society, theschool and the family.
