Homeschooling education,generally refers to the students,who are out of school learning environment, accompanied by their parents, take the family as the learning environment for learning activities. Preiss, an American scholar, is an authoritative person in defining family school. He believes that "the home school education is a kind of children education alternative form, which is performed basic education rights by parents or guardians". Because children’s physical and mental development is different and Personality interests differ in thousands of ways, so formal school education which is standard, unified is difficult to adapt to children’s individual growth need. Family school education can overcome this shortcoming. It can teach students in accordance with their aptitude, and it is conducive to children’s physical and mental health. Meanwhile, it also has the cultivation of personality development and the ability of autonomous learning. In this paper, from the perspective American Moore couple, I summarize the family school education thought and practice experience. What’s more, Combined with the actual situation in our country, I hope it can provides some reference for the reform and innovation in Chinese basic education and family home education mode.Raymond S. Moore and Dorothy N. Moore were famous educators in the world.It is more than fifty years for them to participate in the home school education.Raymond Moore restructured the colleges and universities, and set up a very successful work study program. Dr. Dorothy Moore was an authority on world class courses and reading. They were the children experts, and cofounded the modern family school education.The paper is divided into seven parts to discuss and analyze. The first chapter is to describe the details of the Moores’ life and educational activities, and briefly introduce the family school education research results. The second chapter is to in-depth analyze the formed times background of the thoughts of the Moores’ home schooling education, the reason why sets up a home school. The third chapter mainly introducesthe theoretical basis of family school education and view of education, including several principal aspects. The view of curriculum is paying great attention to cultural courses, family and community service, manual work curriculum and health courses teaching. The view of teaching is emphasizing using reading, singing, games teaching method to stimulate students interest in learning. The learning concept is combining the cultural course learning, manual work and family and community services, and emphasizing on discipline and rules, and stressing that the warmth and love are with the whole process of learning. The fourth chapter summarizes the Moore couples home school education thought of practical experience. The fifth chapter summaries the characteristics and effects of the thoughts of Raymond and Dorothy Moore’ home schooling education. The sixth chapter analyzes the Moores’ family school education in the form of cases. The seventh chapter summarizes the Moore couples home school education thought on family education school in China and the enlightenment including the construction of the professional communication platform; the formulation of laws and regulations and related policies and strengthening supervision;establishing social support system to support the family school education;development of family educational resources and practicing extension space; a little less exam oriented education, more humane care; respect, encouraging independent exploration of diverse. The thesis systematically studies the Moores’ home school education thought. On the one hand,it can enhance our understanding of American family school education, on the other hand, it also lays a good foundation for our country for the research in related fields.
