An Investigation On The Living Conditions Of Middle School Students In Kunming

Quality education is an important part of primary and secondary education. As an important part of quality education, high school students’s holiday life should be concerned about. It has been less of a concern for students holiday life, usually based on the discussions of phenomena, but less use of quantitative survey methods to launch a comprehensive study of vacations. Therefore this study is based on a combination of questionnaires and interviews, to study holiday living conditions for students and factors affecting research.In this study, we focus on three main complete secondary schools in the city of Kunming as examples, from the questionnaire, combining interviews and researcher’s own teaching experience, analyses the students holiday lifestyle, arrangements and influencing factors etc.. In the literature review of existing studies, high school students holiday life content, timing, homework and other activities high school students are surveyed, living situation of holidays and influencing factors are analyzed, and based on the conclusions of the survey corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed.The results showed that:high school students did not appear as good as what we expected, mainly reflected in the following aspects:In order to meet the teaching objectives, the teachers arranged a large number of holiday homework; to pursue higher grades, parents enrolled their kids in a variety of holiday classes; without supervision, students are lived on irregular daily schedules, they wouldn’t go to bed until late and couldn’t get up on time in the mornings; Some students are prohibited from going out, they can only stay at home; Some students spent a lot of time online or on TV; those who wanting to participate in meaningful activities also don’t know where to find them.Based on the findings, this study suggests that in several ways to effectively improve the current situation of students’holiday life:(1) strengthen the implementation of quality education, making school education more efficient, thereby reducing the factors taking away student holidays;(2) to strengthen communications between families, communities and schools, to form a seamless docking, to enable students to give full play to the initiative during the holidays, arrange holidays for students in an orderly manner to avoid holidays being a "window period" for families and school education;(3) improve the community educational function, the government should give full play to the role of guidance and coordination to various kinds of educational agencies with policies and regulations; to provide more possible protection to students’holiday activities.
