Affect and determine the factors of subject well-being have always been an important part of happiness research, existing research shows that objective factors external explanation for the well-being is weak. However, housing prices in Chinese cities in recent years have climbed up dramatically, the rate of housing prices and income is extremely high. Thus, the housing issue has become an important factor in residents’ happiness. In this sense, this paper based on Shanghai residents2007survey’s sampled data, empirically analyzed the relationship between the demographic statistical variables, the per capita household income, housing area and the housing is rented or not, with the subjective well-being. The results showed that: income and housing conditions and subjective well-being was a significant correlation between the nature of property rights, in which the relationship between property house situation and subjective well-being was particularly close, even excluding the effect of income, it still has a direct impact. It argues that Chinese cultural background, a sense of relative deprivation, as well as self-evaluation and self-esteem is such a significant association between the above two main reasons. The emphasis on housing, this objective factor associated with happiness research and its conclusions may have some added value to the previous research.
