Poor students in colleges and universities are rapidly becoming a hot issue the whole nation, government and community are all concerned about. Mental health problems of poor college students has become particularly the focus of attention of all sectors of society in recent years.Relevant universities studies have shown that the issue of poor college students is not only a simple issue of material poverty, more importantly, but also is a mental health problem associated with material poverty. For this reason, in the course of elimination of poverty and research process for poor college students, relevant governmental departments and’ educational researchers have begun to change the long-term poverty elimination as a single mode, and they started the psychological research to poor college students with a view to changing the material poverty from a strategic point view, which can overcome the shortcomings of material elimination such as less positive results, short-term effect and lack of fundamental solution. Therefore, we have turned our focus of research and concern to the psychological health aspects of poor college students. In addition to elimination of material poverty, we should also help to improve the mental health of poor college students in order for them to achieve both material and mental improvement, and at the same time, to avoid occurrence of material and mental poverty.
