With the advent of network age, the increasing popularity of the application of information technology, computer multimedia technology and network technology as the core of information technology application in the field of education is developing rapidly, this paper mainly study of network technology application of secondary school geography teaching, the network technology to establish geography teaching has changed the traditional classroom teaching structure, teaching mode and students’ learning style has brought the big change. But the use of the network technology is not blind, it must follow the certain principle, information technology to establish the geography teaching to achieve effectiveness, so this article mainly discuss with support of information technology, if apply network technology, it brings to the middle school geography teaching works, what problems we will meet in the application and the final effect after teaching.This paper adopted the method of consulting material, questionnaire investigation and contrast analysis of three kinds of research methods, after consult the relevant materials to design research train of thought, through the questionnaire survey of teachers and students to understand the current use of network technology to establish the geography teaching and the after use of the role of students.The thesis consists of six parts. The first part is the background, meaning, status and methods of the research. The second part is the related definitions, the principles and theoretical basis of the integration of network technology and geographical teaching, which are the theoretical foundation of the practice-based argument in the rest parts. The third part is the analyses of the functions and status of the integration of the network technology and high school geographical teaching, and the problems that appears during the integration and the corresponding solving strategies and methods; the purpose for these analyses is to make full use of the functions of technology during teaching process. The forth part is the analysis and evaluation of the cases of the integration based on tutorial sites, and the purpose for this is to test the effect of the integration on improving teaching effectiveness. The fifth part mainly analyzes the effectiveness of the integration, including evaluation indexes and the survey, evaluation and analysis of the result of integration, and comes to the conclusion that the integration is helpful for improvement teaching effectiveness. The sixth part summarizes the study of the thesis, the author of the paper points out its deficiencies, and predicts the future development. The thesis basically explores and practices the teaching model of the integration of network technology and high school geographical teaching. Based on relevant theories, it tries to find a feasible mode for the improvement of the effectiveness of geographical teaching through practical cases-analyzing the teaching status both in China and the outside world under the environment of network technology, summarizing the teaching situation of the integration, exploring and analyzing issues from the perspective of combining theories and practice, and getting the result that the integration can obviously provoke students’ learning interest, train their learning ability and improve their academic performances.First, provoke the learning interest of students. Today’s quality education emphasizes the concept of student-oriented education, which encourages students to learn actively instead of passively. One of the motives for active learning is the best teacher-interest. So how to increase students’learning interest is the key point. As we all know, the main feature of network technology is that content can be presented in diverse forms. The combination of characters, pictures, videos, animations through multimedia technology can make learning materials vivid so that they can attract students’ attention and thereby stimulate students’ learning interest. Therefore the integration of network technology and geographical teaching is an effective way to heighten students’ learning interest.Second, train students’ learning ability. Learning ability is the most important ability for students. Students are the masters of their learning. Constructivism theory also emphasizes that students complete their knowledge frames through actively constructing their own knowledge systems. Learning ability includes independent learning ability and cooperative learning ability. The former requires students to find, explore and solve problems actively. The latter requires students to have a cooperative consciousness; it believes that learning also is a process of communication, and students can improve their learning ability during the process of communicating with and learning from others. Through the two modules of preview before class and information exchange forum, network technology plays an important role in training the two learning abilities.Third, improve students’ academic performances. Students’ academic performances would naturally be improved if their learning interest and ability are both strengthened, and the improvement of their academic performances will mean the increase of the ineffectiveness of geographical teaching. Therefore, the application of network techniques can effectively improve the effectiveness of geographical teaching.In a word, the application of network technology brings changes to geography teaching, changed the way of teachers and students’study way, by promoting the teachers’ teaching and students’learning to improve teaching effectiveness, to better promote the development and progress of students.
