A Study On The Consumption View Of Migrant Workers' Children In Cities

With the social and economic development, people’s living standards improving as wellas the extensive use of electronic media represented by the Internet and television, people’straditional values and lifestyles are undergoing changes. The pursuit of high-quality of lifebecomes one major characteristic, consumption as a way to improve the quality of life, it canbe recognized by people. People’s consumption concept is also undergoing profound changes.The farm-workers’ children in cities as a special group, their consumption is also affected byconsumption culture and consumption patterns in city, which is undergoing profound changes.The consumption of the children of farm-workers in cities is not only a reflection of their lifesituation and values, and it is directly related to their integration and effectiveness of moraleducation in schools. Based on this, I began the study.First, this study based on312children of the farm-workers in city of middle school in theDa Lian through the questionnaire survey and individual student’s interview, I analyze thethree aspects of the current situation and existing problems of the farmer-workers’ children incities on consumption cognitive, consumption emotion and consumption behavior tendencies.I also analyze the influence of different gender, grades, household and disposable pocket onthe number above three aspects, the following conclusions: There is no significant genderdifference in the farm-workers’ children in cities on consumption cognitive and consumptionemotion, but there are significant gender differences in the consumption behavior tendencies;There is no significant grade difference in the farm-workers’ children in cities on consumptionemotion, but there are significant grade differences on consumption cognitive andconsumption behavior tendencies; there are significant differences in the students betweenurban and rural areas; The number of disposable pocket money is an important factoraffecting the consumption concept of the children of farm-workers in cities.Secondly, for the consumption cognitive tending superficial phenomenon of thefarm-workers’ children in cities; consumption emotion tending indifference; consumerbehavior tendencies with certain exchanges, comparisons and blindness problems, the author explores reasons from the family, school and society three aspects.Finally, for the survey conclusions and reason analysis, the author think we should viewthe role of the different education subject cultivating healthy and rational consumptionconcept of the farm-workers’ children in cities. Social level: by system specification andmedia positive guidance, create a healthy and reasonable consumption culture atmosphere;Family level: to improve the ability of family education, cultivating the healthy consumptionconcept of farm-workers’ children in cities; School level: to play a leading role in schooleducation, strengthen consumption education, guide consumption behavior.
