Study On Influencing Factors And Social Work Intervention Of Female Reproductive Health Service For Migrant Workers

Dealing with the problems caused by migrant population always is the national social work, especially the aspect on women, because young women are a rather large proportion of the migrant population. As the important labor force resource to the coast economic construction, migrant young women workers contributed a lot to our country’ s economic construction. Their service need on the reproductive health are growing and cannot be ignored any more, facilitating the situation is our service’s priority among the social work, it’s worth discussing and studying for the theoretic support to the professional development of the social work.With the research methods including questionnaire survey, cases interview and literature review and the guidance from the theory of social gender, this essay, which based on the survey on the migrant young women workers from the L Industry Park in Zhuhai City and the local reproductive health service institutes, analyzed and discussed the influence factors on the reproductive health of the migrant young women workers and referred relative social work examples, thereby providing the approach on the intervention of the social work.First, the details about the local medical and reproductive service, including the amount and size and the staffs’quality, as well the social support, all are illustrated in this study. It concerns that many problems still exist despite the favorable situation. For the institutions, problems are as follow:some have not been accepted by the mass for inappropriate advertizing; grass-roots institutions’growth was restricted according to the shortage of the political support; the phenomenon of the parochial services and the low level medical skills generally existed in the service system; it’s not only short of the publicity and education on the reproductive health knowledge but also lack of the human resource and staff motivation; as to the private hospitals with false advertizing scandals, their government is in chaos; overall, the market competitiveness is low, and comparing the growing demand for service, the service supply is overloaded with the limited amount and size. For individuals, they lack the knowledge of reproductive health and know little about the various physical check-up on the reproductive health. For the employers, most of them lack the realization of reproductive health service, resulting in the discrimination to the unmarried bearing-age women. Second, this essay explored the influence factors on the reproductive health of the migrant young women workers from various aspects such as social policy, economic, social/district, mate/family and themselves.The study found that the social policy is the huge boost for the formation of the concepts on the reproductive health; the economic conditions determine the attitude to the problems of the reproductive problem; the social and districts determine the quality of the reproductive health service; the attitude of the mate or other families is also very important for the women whether initiative to seek reproductive health. Eventually, with the various research conclusions, as well combining the theory and practice of the social work on the aspects such as policy, culture, social management and support, and individuals and their families, the essay provide the suggestion to the improvement of the reproductive health service for the migrant young women workers.The essay analyzed the influence factors on the reproductive health service for young female migrant workers in a variety of methods. Combining the conclusions of the research and study, it also provide the methods to the intervention to the social work. As to the angle of research, it starting at a new point, meanwhile it also offers a reference to the social work on the field of women reproductive health service.
