Quantitative research method and case study method were used in this paper.Simultaneously Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),Tennessee Self-concept Scale(TSCS) and Chinese Middle School Students’Mental Health Scale(CMSSMHS) also were used to analysis and understand relationship of the social support,Self-concept and students’mental health for the rural Junior High School who are living in the rural areas of Yangzhou city Jiangsu province.By using case study to explore effective intervention way to improve the mental health of the rural Junior school students,this paper’s research results can offer relevant the reference for the mental health of the rural students and correlation research.Main results for this study were as follows:1、In general, mental health status of normal the rural students in Junior High School accounted for67.93%.The rate of mild and moderate degree mental health problems of the students from the rural Junior High School respectively accounted for27.09%and4.98%. The more easily induced mental health problems mainly had four the aspects of learning pressure, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, anxiety and emotional imbalance.2、As for genders, the mental health of girls were better than the boys’. Mental health level of the only-child was better than that of the non-only-child. There were exist very significant difference between grades, students of grade one and two were mentally healthier than those of grade three, students of grade one mental health level was the highest.There were exist extremely significant difference of academic performance and different ways of parental rearing pattern.3、Rural junior high school students had intermediate level on social support.4、Rural junior high school students self-concept was better level.5、Social support and self-concept were significant negatively related to the mental health; Social support and self-concept had the direct effect on mental health; Social support could affect mental health by self-concept.6%Subjective support and the support exploitation degree of social support as well as self-criticism and self-satisfaction of self-concept could predict mental health.7、Based on a case with mental health symptoms from the rural junior high school showed, taking effective mental interventional measures actively could improve the student’s mental health.8、The research offers some suggestions as for how to improve students of the rural junior high school mental health on the bases of causes and the corresponding analysis and discussion.
