| With the development of the education reform, emphasis on extra-curricular reading and strengthening the curricular and extra-curricular communication get more and more recognition and attention from the academia and the whole society. Today upper primary students are experiencing tremendous changes of the times. The amount of information they receive and the breadth of their information channel is hitherto unknown. This makes the extracurricular reading also face the new situation and the emergence of new problems and challenges. At the same time, in2011, The Chinese Course Standard of2011proposed new requirements extracurricular reading for upper elementary students. Therefore, effectively improving upper primary students’ extra-curricular reading is imperative.This thesis contains five parts. The first part is an introduction, introducing the background, significance, theoretical basis a, the innovation and shortage of the research. The second part is the rational thinking of upper primary students’ extra-curricular reading, including the cognitive features, extra-curricular reading features and significances of the upper primary students. The third part takes the S primary school located in some city of central Jiangsu as an example. By using the questionnaires, interviews, case methods, it investigates the status of upper primary students’ extra-curricular reading. It mainly introduces the S primary school located in some city of central Jiangsu, the overview of the survey, and then collates and analyzes the survey results. And express the results of the investigation in four parts:interests and motivations of extracurricular reading, reading methods and habits of the extracurricular reading, time spend for extracurricular reading and content of the extracurricular reading, the attitude and guidance for students’ extracurricular reading of the parents and teachers. The fourth part is based on the survey results, discusses the problems faced and analyzes the results. The fifth part is countermeasure studies, trying to solve these problems in four aspects. One is attaching importance to the upper primary students’ extra-curricular reading. Two is cultivating the upper primary students’ interesting in extra-curricular reading. Three is strengthening the guidance for the students’ extracurricular reading. Four is maintaining the two-way communication between teachers and parents. Thereby we can improve the effectiveness of upper primary students’ extra-curricular reading, bring up students’ good extracurricular reading habits, improve their Chinese accomplishment. |
