Since2004, guangdong, shandong, ningxia and hainan, the four experimental provinces (area) were the first to enter the new round of basic education curriculum reform, general technology curriculum reform experiment has been10years. To2011, the general technology curriculum has been basically achieved in the implementation of the nationwide. General technology curriculum practice was in a variety of forms, including technical design, technology production, technology to explore, techniques experiences and skills acquisition, etc. General technical practice room is the main places to complete general technology curriculum teaching target and technical practice activity. As a course support, general practice room created a practical application platform and provide the material conditions for the smooth implementation of the general technology curriculum and the realization of the objective. In order to better implement the new curriculum and the new curriculum reform, the national various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have started the new curriculum experiment equipment work, strengthening the construction of general technical practice room. Many ordinary high school general technical practice room has built for several years. How general technology practice room and its facilities play a main role lies in the education teaching function into full play, if can be used effectively, effectiveness is generated by the value. General technical practice room use efficiency directly affects the teaching effect, influences the cultivation of students’ practical ability and innovative spirit, and affects the comprehensive realization of the goal of new curriculum reform.This study through class observation and general technology teacher interviews, provided a good start for understanding the basic usage of the ordinary high school general technology practice room in nanjing, based on the self-made questionnaire of30general technology teachers and surveys among206students of4ordinary high schools, the data was analyzed from the use of time, use content, use way and use effect of these four aspects by SPSS18.0data analysis software. The study found that the use of general technology practice room is limited in periods,room construction and practice ability; Recognition on the part of general technical practice room use efficiency is generally lower than the students; Teacher and students focus on the effectiveness of the different general technology practice room, the students pay more attention to its practical activity; Technology practice content, basic electric tools used or not, the practice materials influence the students’ recognition. In view of the problems existing in use process, make suggestions to the general technology teachers, education administrative department and schools, so as to provide the reference for the construction, the management and use of the ordinary high school general technology practice room, as well as the practice room use efficiency improvement.
