English is not only a subject but also a means of communication. Therefore, oral English teaching plays an important role in English teaching. But in traditional English teaching, affected by the form of examination, the ways of evaluation and some other factors, teachers usually pay much attention to English grammar and the training of English reading and writing instead of the teaching of oral English. They also ignore the cultivation of students’ communicative competence, which caused a lot of dumb English phenomenon. In view of this situation, the author attempts to introduce cooperative learning in oral English class and aims to improve students’ oral English communicative competence.This research is an empirical study. In the experimental class, the researcher first tried to build cooperation teaching mode of oral English class according to the students’study level. Then do research on effective cooperation organization strategy learning activities in this mode, so as to further improve the efficiency of oral English learning and oral communication skills. During the study period of four months, the researcher got the relevant data through the questionnaire, oral test and other forms of access. Then T test was used to demonstrate the significant students’ oral English test results between the experimental class and the control class, which indicates that cooperative learning plays a positive role in junior oral English learning. Because of the cooperative learning method, the students’ oral communicative ability has been improved and it further stimulated the students’ interest and confidence in practicing spoken English.This paper is divided into five chapters, the first chapter is the introduction, it mainly introduces the background of the research, the purpose and significance of the research; the second chapter is a literature review, it introduces the definitions and characteristics of cooperative learning, the basic theories and the research status at home and abroad; the third chapter is the practice of the application of cooperative learning in oral English class in junior middle school. It introduces the research object and methods, research tools, research and data collection and analysis. The fourth chapter is the analysis and discussion of the results. The fifth chapter is the conclusion part of this paper, and it summarizes the findings in the research process, the lack of research and the directions of the research in the future.As the time and the researcher’s theoretical level and practical teaching operational level is limited, this research still needs further improvement and development. In the future teaching process, the author will continue to focus on the implementation of cooperative learning in oral English Teaching in junior middle school and the solutions for the inefficiencies that exist in oral classroom cooperative learning, in order to improve the efficiency of cooperative learning. |
