A Study On The Necessity Of Setting Up Taekwondo Course In Physical Education Specialty Of Sichuan Province

Abstract:With the improvement of Taekwondo competitive level in our country, more and more people gradually begin to focus on Taekwondo and they also realize the function of practising it, which promote the vigorous development of China’s Taekwondo. However, Taekowondo is only developed about ten years in our country,so there are few professionals. Moreover, theoretical research of offering Taekwondo course in PE major is relatively few. So by expounding present status of development at home and abroad as well as the characteristics of Taekowondo, this paper analyzes the advantages of offering Taekwondo course in the PE major of Sichuan Province. What’more, it proposes that Taekwondo course has great significance for training physical education talents, helping students employment and popular development of Taekwondo.This paper studies Taekwondo course in PE major of Sichuan Province. Methods adopted include literature method, mathematical statistical method and theory analysis method and so on. Meanwhile, this article combines universities condition in Sichuan Province choosing some teachers and students from eight universities and those who took part in2011Sichuan Junior Taekwondo Championships to make a investigation. And explore the feasibility and necessity to offer the Taekwondo course in PE major according to the demand for specialists, the value and advantages of offering Taekwondo course.Research findings are as follows:1. offering Tae kwon do courses majoring in physical education in common universities of Sichuan province is feasible and necessary.Require significant levels of Tae kwon do in present stage professionals needed in professional Tae kwon do courses of physical education in colleges and universities, there are plans to train a group of professional teachers, coaches and instructors of social sports teams.2. Tae kwon do to promote healthy physical and mental development of college students majoring in physical education, expanding the employment of graduates majoring in physical education, and increasing the employment rate to meet the modern society of sports talents on "multi-skill" needs.3. offering Tae kwon do courses in physical education can promote school sports, competitive sports, and harmonious development among sports, Tae kwon do has been improved further, there is a good basis to ensure as soon as possible to catch up with the pace of other sports powers.4. Tae kwon do school needs a lot, a high level of teaching staff.Physical education major in colleges and universities is the main source of primary and middle school PE teachers, offering Tae kwon do courses in colleges and universities to meet the needs of primary and secondary schools in this regard.5. lack of teaching staff, teaching materials are not unified authority, venues and equipment behind, without due attention to the influence and the money is majoring in physical education in common universities of Sichuan province key factors of offering Tae kwon do lessons.
