This paper discusses the students studying in the United States in Yunnan duringthe Period of the Republic of China, trying to sort out the relevant historical materialscarefully in order to be able to outline this historical period in Yunnan overseaseducation history picture.Specifically, the paper is divided into four chapters to explore this topic. The firstchapter examines the students in Yunnan during the Republic of China to the UnitedStates to study the relevant information. By comparing the analysis of relevanthistorical materials, research out of157students in Yunnan Province to the UnitedStates to study the information, Yunnan clarify this period students to study in theUnited States at all stages of development, and a brief analysis of the characteristicsof these groups of students. Chapter Two analyzes the Northern Government andNanjing National Government Yunnan students to study in the United States policy.That the Northern Government of Yunnan students to study in the United Statespolicy has undergone a process of exploration. Lies in its lack of continuity pooreducational policy abroad. And in a very long period of time there is the Yunnanprovincial government for students to America to study at their own expensemanagement deficiencies problem; Nanjing National Government CentralGovernment and local governments around the power there is a conflict of StudentsStudying Abroad, Yunnan adjust their policies abroad, its policies constrained by thecentral government more and more. Later mainly committed to improving grantpolicy. The third chapter of the Yunnan Province in1943was established for studentsstudying in the United States to prepare for the preliminary training of the scholarshipto study abroad classes.Preparatory education for studying in the United States classorganization, preparation of training students to go abroad with the centralgovernment on the negotiations as well as students studying abroad returned issueswere discussed, pointing out that in a complex political environment in Yunnan localgovernments to reserve postwar construction personnel to do out a great effort. In thisstudy activity, the National Southwest Associated University has also made greatcontributions. The fourth chapter of the Yunnan students returned home from theUnited States in social activities. After returning home that they actively participate inlocal construction. In many ways they have made important contributions. Such aslocal education development, economic development and so on. In a general, the development of education is influenced by many factors, such as,special geographical environment, economic development level, historical andcultural tradition, interest disputes between local powerful groups and the centralgovernment. In the Republic of China period, these factors have affected thedevelopment of Yunnan Overseas Education. Therefore, the development process ofoverseas education in Yunnan to some extent reflects the social ecology of Yunnanduring the Republic of China.
