With the development of tennis, the professional level and the competitive abilityof athletes improve continuously. Their bodies become bigger and stronger. And thetechnological content of carbon-fiber rackets develops. Thus the quality of the firstserve improves. What’s more, the second serve relieves the athlete’s worry about themiss of the first serve, and make the first serve more aggressive, the success rate ofreturn of serve reduce, and the missing rate improve. The imbalance between serveand the return of serve harm the continuity and appreciation of the game. Under thecondition that rules can not control the first serve, rules can regulate the imbalancebetween the first and the second serve if the second serve is cancelled. This has beenthe vital problem. This paper uses expert interview and questionnaires for referee, coach, athleteand audience. Base on the attitude of the four population groups about the abolition ofthe second serve. The paper, which takes the reasons and the trend of the net sportEvents competition rules as the theoretical basis, and learns from the rules ofvolleyball, table tennis and badminton, analyses the probability of the cancel ofsecond serve in tennis game. Focusing on the characteristics of the first serve and thesecond serve, this paper uses the methods of video material statistics andmathematical statistics to analyze27games in2010U.S Open and to predict thegame’s characteristics after cancelling the second serve. And through the research, theconclusions are as follows:Analysis from evolution of motivation and development trends of the nets sportsevents of competition rules and the common laws of development trend of thevolleyball, badminton, table tennis, demonstrated that tennis to abolish the secondserve is feasible.Tennis rules abolish the tennis second serve, could reduce the ball speed, weakthe serve dominance and aggressive, balance the serving side and receiving sideoffensive; Due to the reducing of serve speed and serve threats that the aggressfrequency is not-significant changes in the receiving side, and the directly score theprobability is very small. Implement one serve in the game of tennis is feasible. The frequency of aces occurrence reduced and guaranteed the continuity of thegame also the splendid be improved; The average number of beats per minutes isincreased, correspondingly, the time of every point of will be increased, but not theaverage game time and save the time of the second time. Implement one serve isfeasible on the game time.In the serve stage, points won on serve is close to50percent, the offensive anddefensive between the serve and return is tend to balance, therefore, the serve speedcould be controlled and serve percent improved, Implement one serve the possible ofserve mainly more spin and cutting ball, ball placement to attack opponents arerelatively weak backhand and mainly close ball which not conducive to the return ofserve to avoid other more aggressive forehand position. In the return of serve stage, the return percentage of serve and points won onreturn of serve improved. The probability of directly scoring rate is very small, and return of serve score was48.9%, nearly50%of the same, again to ensure the defensebalance. Implement one serve only the serve stations are possible still focus on thebottom line near the singles sideline; return technology of serve will full of diverse, and mainly hit back middle road ball.During stalemate period, the end of the beats in frequency concentrates on thefourth beat. And the beat in every minute increased and the rounds, too. Then, thegame is splendid. But in this period, the rate of technology appliance won’t appearobvious change.Implement one serve could reduce the threat and control of the serve, keep thebalance of offensive and defensive; maintain the continuity and wonderful of thegame; improve viewing of the game and the audience satisfaction; promote thetechnical and tactical play.
