In todays world,sports competition becomes increasingly fierce, which depends largely on the sports reserve talents competition . As long as great importance are being attached to the cultivation of competitive sports reserve talented person, a country or regions athletic sports can develop with strong backing and explosive power. "Swimming", as big gold medal event, its backup talents is particularly important. At the time of the swimmers'preparation for the 2012 Olympic games, it is very important and meaningful to do some investigation and research on the respect of "competitive swimming backup talents cultivation status and sustainable development" in Shanghai region, which not only can maintain a high level and sustainable development of the competitive swimming in Shanghai, but also can provide valuable reference about swimming backup talents training mode to the other provinces and cities, finally promote the healthy development of the swimming events.Swimming event in Shanghai has perennial dominant advantage in the nation, always ranking the top of the list in the national youth swimming games. In Shanghai, the policy and management of swimming is sophisticated; swimming is popular in primary and secondary schools, and the cultivate system construction in two third-line backup talent is comparatively perfect. There is also some problems need to undertake research in such a rapid growth of market economy, thereby better make the cultivation of Shanghai swimming backup talents develop sustainably.This thesis utilizes lots scientific research methods such as the literature material law, expert interview, questionnaire and mathematical statistics to investigate and analyze Shanghai swimming reserve personnel training in terms of policy, the athletics team, coaches team, athletes training situation, contest condition, conveying by using the sample of the coaches, athletes, swimming school principals and athletes in Shanghai two third-line swimming school. Then the thesis used principal component analysis to do some qualitative research of the influence factors of sustainable development on Shanghai municipal swimming backup talents. Final part is the Conclusion and relevant suggestions. (1) Current variety of policies and management measures are conducive to the development and cultivation of swimming backup talents, the development of "combination of sport and education work is good, but the rewards and assessment measures need further develop. (2) Athletes age structure is reasonable with increased proportion of juveniles and the training load arrangement deviate considerably from the outline. (3) "Contradictions between learning and training" is still one of the most important issues in the cultivation of swimming backup talents. (4) The coach team overall quality is high with a reasonable age structure. Further emphasis should be strengthened on the coach business training and learning of world advanced training theory. (5) Shanghai youth swimming competition setup is quite reasonable with a stable number in each area, and swimmers individual training in some suburbs needs to be strengthened. (6) Talent selection and transportation method is scientific and reasonable and diversified. (7) Through the analysis and classification of main factors which affect the sustainable development, we can draw two main factors influence the cultivation of Shanghai backup talents swimmer: (X1) way out and management factors; (X2) Students enrollment and cultural factors.
