The sport of Tennis come into China is more than one hundred years, it has became the most popular sport, more and more people like it. But in the process of its spreading, tennis sport faced many problems. For the professional athletes and amateurs, there is no a pair of guidelines and modeling to evaluate their technical merit and to make sure the technical level of themselves. The general clubs have no methods to help amateurs to improve. On abroad, The USTA,USPTA,IHSRA developed NTRP(National Tennis Rating Program),The ITF developed ITN--A guide to the ITF International Tennis Rating System, but the two programs do not evaluate a amateur's technical merit accurately from technical view, in our country, there is no such researches.Based on the tennis players'technical merit system, this paper try to bring forward a program to evaluate the amateur's technical merit, the main content of this paper includes:1. Analyzed the basic technical characteristics, according to the technical style in matches and trainings, established a three layers program to evaluate the amateur's technical merit. In the program, it contains serve index, forehand drive index and backhand drive index belong to the second layer, flatten out index, forward spin index, forehand volley index and other 23 index belong to the third layer.2. Using the AHP, analyzed the importance degree between 2nd layer and 3rd layer, build the matrix symmetry, make sure the relations of them, to provided a method to improve the amateur's technical merit. Collected 5 players'data, using the gray synthetic assessment, evaluated the players' technical merit.3. According to the index numerical value and the result, build the logical and weight relations automatically from MATLAB2010 BP neural network. Use the Sample value as the input layer, gray synthetic assessment result as the output, build a three layers BP neural network. By learning and training automatically, Modeling the relations. Used the BP neural network tool Of MATLAB2010,build a relation model. Provided a method to assessment other players and the way to improve the technical merit.4. Analyzed the assessment model of tennis amateur, found out the weakness, for example, if we use the assessment model to calculate the achievement of other players, we need to gather a plenty of sample value, and keep the same testing circumstances. Proposed that we can use pitching machine to test our players to make sure the comparability of outer circumstances, and analyzed the possibility of popularizing themodeling.
