Study Of Grass-roots Social Service Organizations, Social Capital And Financing Capacity

Non-profit organizations, as the third domain to ease the government and market failures, are in the ascendant over the years. As a result Grass-roots Social Service Organizations also have been vigorous development. However, the problem of insufficient fund-raising capacity has seriously hindered the development of the organization and mission implementation.The available literature research on fund-raising capacity of enterprises discovered that social capital has a significant impact on corporate fund-raising. However previous literature rarely touched base under the domestic non-profit organization's fund-raising ability. Does the effect of social capital on the fund-raising in grass-roots social service organizations also exist? What is the mechanism? Those are the questions to be answered in this research.This research first defined the grass-roots social service organizations and the content of fund-raising capacity, and then reviewed Social Capital Theory. With deep expatriation on literature and empirical studies, the author found out that Social Capital affects the organization's fund-raising capacity in grass-roots social service organizations via three dimensions:structural dimension, relational dimension, cognitive dimension are, respectively,. The conclusion is that the higher the social capital, the stronger organizational financing capacity.The impact of Social Capital on Fund-raising Capacity, on the one hand lies in the fact of the social environment of "relationship culture" in China; on the other hand institutional ability to integrate resources is also relevant. If the grass-roots social service organizations take full advantage of these characteristics of Chinese society, and also to enhance the quality of institutions, it will definitely improve fund-raising and better promote the organization's further development and progress.
