According to some statistics ,there are about thirty percent of the junior middle school students, or even higher in some places, who are afraid of learning mathematics. The major problem with studying mathematics for most of the students originates from difficulties understanding the abstract mathematic conception without any efficient remedy. After too much frustration and failure ,they gradually lose the confidence and interest in studying mathematics.Compared with other students, we have found that the students with difficulty in leaning mathematics have some weaknesses in some basic mathematics skills and some strategies of solving problems. They also don't have systematic structure of mathematics knowledge. After consulting plenty of references and based on the research results, we propose a supplementary mathematics teaching model---"sampling-investigation"and we have carried out our research.During the research ,we apply both the qualitative and quantitative statistics methods by using questionnaire, observation, individual case study and the analysis of pre- quiz and post-quiz as well as the comparison of the students with difficulty in studying mathematics in different groups. We have found that this"sampling-investigation"teaching model could significantly improve mathematics education efficiency in the following:(1) It helps students understand the conceptual, procedural knowledge and improves students'ability of solving mathematical problems. (2) It stimulates students'enthusiasm of learning mathematics and improves learning efficiency(3) It promotes students'ability of the internal migration of learning mathematics and decreases students'cognitive loadThrough our research, we hope to provide some practical ideas and methods in how to transform the students with difficulty in learning mathematics for the majority of teachers. We really hope this teaching modal will also be conducive to effective teaching, and achieve enlightenment on both theory and practice.
