The new curriculum standard advocates the investigative study, and the main body participation consciousness is the basis of the study. Mathematics educator Polya said:"The best way of learning any knowledge lies in the students themselves to find, because this kind of discovery can understand profoundly and master the internal rules, nature and contact most easily." A meaningful learning process should be "students must have a positive attitude, mobilize the original knowledge and experience to try to solve the new problems and assimilate new knowledge so as to build their own cognitive structure of the process." The new curriculum reform in junior middle school mathematics classroom teaching suggests that "actively participating in practice, exploring independently, teacher-student communication cooperation" should be the characteristic of the student main body participation study style. But, in the rurual junior middle schools, there are still some adverse conditions, and school-weary phenomenon can be found in this kind of schools, so the main body participation in mathematics study in rural junior high schools becomes necessary.The purpose of this research firstly awakens and strengthens the teachers'respect of the student main body, the pursuit of teaching democracy consciousness; Secondly the principle of "the teacher as the supervisor, the student as the main body, the activity as the main line, innovation as purpose" should be implemented. The purpose is fundamentally to change the student's study way, to center the students, to let the student really learn to study math, to become the study master. Thus we can reduce students schoolwork burden, make the students' initiative the ability of knowledge to improve mathematical learning quality.The theoretical base of this study is mathematics constructivism learning theories and G. Polya's "active learning" principle. The thesis uses questionnaire and interview form, investigating the maths study way of middle-school students in Jinnan District, Tianjin, the present situation of main body participation through case studies and teaching fragment, the main body participation strategy and measures. Combined with related theory and mathematical teaching practice, this paper proposes the strategies:namely four aspects--- family, school and society should form a cohesive force to establish good cultivation environment; Rural school mathematics teachers should actively explore new teaching mode; Pay attention to the curriculum resources exploitation; Improve the rural school mathematics teacher's own quality. Explore cooperative learning, guide the use of case teaching mode; Make full use of multimedia course resource; Through training, education, public lesson, continue to the cultivation of backbone teachers ways such as improving rural school mathematics teacher's own quality.
