Nowadays, with the rapid development of education, the initiative of educational reform concepts and the increasing consensus of the new curriculum ideas, teachers are the key of success or failure of education reform as well as the improvement of the quality of education and high-quality personnel training. The overall quality of teachers, as well as the level of education and teaching management capabilities directly affects the future development of society. Professional development of teachers is highly valued by both domestic and foreign experts in education and reform practitioners. To concern the professional development of primary school teachers in rural areas and improve the operational capacity and practice level of primary school teachers in rural areas is the top priority of basic education of Dalian City.For the purpose of professional development of teachers in rural primary school, this study took Dalian City rural primary school teachers as the research object and drew on research results of experts and scholars at home and abroad for reference, using questionnaires and interviews, analyzed and discussed some of the basic theory of issues such as defining the concepts, teacher status, influencing factors, problem solving approaches, then combined with the characteristics of primary school teachers in rural areas, put forward new ideas to promote the professional development of teachers in rural primary schools: to establish the effective operating mechanism that suits professional development of teachers in rural primary schools ; to build a good evaluation system; to change the concept of teachers; to improve the driving force to professional development of teachers in rural primary schools;to improve the professional curriculum resources system to the development of teachers in rural primary school; to achieve a balanced development of primary education in rural areas.
