Local Police Agencies Involved In The Practice And Exploration Of International Police Cooperation

World policing cooperation is the support, back-up, assistance and coordination carried out by different police force to fulfill certain policing duty. World policing cooperation is a cross-border action which means one police force could take investigation in another country. Thus we could set up a worldwide net for preventing and controlling crime, and the platform for investigation, evidence collecting and arresting criminals could be made. Nowadays, the crimes are spreading throughout the world, the criminals make full use of modern transportation and difference in exit and entry system to escape, and we must build up international policing cooperation to crack down these crimes as that is our common goal for police.Yet Chinese police, especially local police agencies do little in policing cooperation, some of the reasons might be short of channel, no idea of coordinating procedure even afraid of trouble. We have to improve our ability to use international policing channel to gain intelligence on terrorism, whereabouts of fugitives abroad, and ask foreign police agencies for cooperation in evidences collecting, repatriation and extradition of criminals.This thesis tries to figure out the meaning and development as well as channels for international law enforcement cooperation, to identify the ways for Chinese police in national and local levels in policing cooperation. This thesis focuses on world policing cooperation, research and discuss the meaning and characteristics and development trend, it pay great importance on local police in world policing cooperation and take Shanghai as an example, discusses what the local police could do and try to point out the way for future policing cooperation.
