| This paper focuses on the research of the language recognition in the crime investigation.Speech is the result of applying language to express idea and it changes with the social life. it's the signal which expresses the ration, logical and reasoning. Language recognition is a technique which makes speech as its object through identifying the speech material to speculate the characteristics, this technique could help us exposing and verifying the crime.The evidence contains the language materials; we can analysis such evidence to attain some information, such as describing the suspects, confirming the goal and the direction of the investigation. In the handwriting identification, we usually focus on the handwriting characteristics to analysis the language material. However, to strength the analysis of the contents of the language material can provide the suspect's image more fully. Additionally, in the oral questioning of the suspect, we need to identify the words and capture the effective and truthful information. In the kidnapping case, the communication with the perpetrators is a critical issue, analyzing the words the criminals say, we could set specific and feasible strategies.With the weaken role of writing tools in the handwriting identification, and development of other communication media, such as e-mail, fax, telex, telephone, the characteristics of handwriting will be decreasing, the only distinction is its contents, language, syntax, and other representative personality traits.Speech information in the investigation hasn't got much attention and good use. The lack of theoretical study and practical experience restricts the use of speech information on a certain extent. This paper analyses the nature and the characteristics of the speech, then discusses the complementary role of speech recognition, then makes some conclusion. We should treat cautiously and dialectically to the language feature.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part outlines the characteristics of the language; respectively analyzes the nature and the characteristics of the speech, the role in investigating the case, and points out the similarities and differences between the handwriting characteristics and speech characteristics. The two used in conjunction will help to handwriting identification. This part also explains the significance and principle on the use of a combination of the two.The second part describes how to recognize the geographical feature, gender, the education state and mental state in the of speech recognition. It concludes how to analysis the criminal comprehensively; also focus on how to use the language feature in the oral questioning, the significance lies in portraying the information the speech contains and extracts some specific information.The third part specifies the history and the development of language recognition, briefly introduces the research in the foreign country, then makes recommendation about it. Based on the comparison, gives many rational proposal.The use of language features of course has some limitation, but based on the research of speech recognition in the crime investigation, we look forward to grasping the value of language feature more comprehensively, improving the application in the diction and looking at the value of using language feature thoroughly. |
