Along with the in-depth development of China's economical system reform, the labor dispute settlement system born in the course of transition from the planned economy to the market economy, meets many problems and challenges either in its system construction or in its practice. Therefore, the further reform and development of labor dispute settlement system becomes an important task facing us. The target of this thesis is to put forward some proposals for the reform and improvement of China's present labor dispute settlement system.This thesis divides into four parts besides the preface and the concluding section. The first part introduces concepts related to labor disputes and labor dispute settlement system and analyzes the causes of labor disputes and the characteristics of the labor dispute settlement system. The second part analyzes China's present labor dispute settlement system and points out its concerns. The third part introduces the survey of labor dispute settlement system in modern western countries, analyzes the common rules of labor dispute settlement system and put forth the methods that we can borrow. The forth part analyzes different domestic theories on labor dispute settlement system, suggests that China should establish the labor dispute settlement mode of"either arbitration or lawsuit, final award individual"and put forward the idea of reforming and improving China's present labor dispute settlement system upon that basis.
