The core being modernized is the human being's modernization. And in themodern society, it mainly points to forming the qualified citizens. At present, ourcountry is being in the modernized transformation, the social modernization alreadyhas a great development; however, the growing up of the citizens' qualities iscomparatively lower, it has become the obstacle of the further modernization.Although the reasons leading to this situation come form different aspects, the mostimportant reason is that the civil education didn't perform effectively. So, under thisbackground, re-thinking of our contemporary civil education, making clear of itsconnotation and re-building up its conception, content and approach will haveimportant theoretical and practical significance.The thesis takes the connotation's re-defined as a point of penetration,re-thinking of and searching our contemporary civil education with three parts:Partâ… : Reviewing the emergence and development of the "citizen" and the "civileducation". According to the comparison between the Eastern and Western, define theessential qualities of the "citizen" and the "civil education", clarify the traditionalpolitical culture origin and realistic reasons that leading to its long-time deficiency, soas to establish a theoretical foundation for the thesis' further research.Partâ…¡: Starting with the review of our contemporary civil education's currentresearch and practice situation, analyze the necessary of re-defining its connotation.Then, make a clear definition according to our country's contemporary reality and thecitizens' characteristics. Finally, confirm the education pattern that we urgently neednow should be taking constructing the citizenship cognition as the base point; formingthe civil consciousness as the core; training civil virtues as the fundamental content;realizing the changes that from the traditional feudal personality to the modern civilpersonality, from the "latent citizen" to the real modern citizen as the purpose.Partâ…¢: Basing on the clear re-defined civil education's connotation, make rathercomprehensive research and construction on our contemporary civil education fromthe conception, content and approach even further.
