It is mainly divided into two parts. The author makes the limitto the definition of the patriarchal clan in the first part of content. Its limit is: it is a kind ofsocial group which is established according to the male line blood relationship principle,and has a certain standard system, organization form and principle of activity, and canachieve common identification in a certain extent. Then, the patriarchal clan's nature isgiven the dialectical analyses. At last, the author dialectically analyses the patriarchalclan's function, which includes not only a positive role, but also a negative role.The second chapter is the key point in the paper. It mainly introduces the cognition andthe countermeasure of our party in dealing with the rural patriarchal clan problem basedon the example of Guangdong clan from 1949 to 1966. Firstly, the author expounds thereason why to take the example of Guangdong clan. Secondly, this period is divided intothree time sections to inspect. These three time sections include: the period of Agrarianrevolution, the period of the Cooperative and the period of people's communes. Becausethe policy of party is a coherent process, the author also briefly introduces the cognitionand countermeasure of the party before the foundation of the nation in addition.The third chapter is the summary of experience and lesson of our party in dealing withthe rural patriarchal clan problem from 1949 to 1966. This chapter is mainly divided intotwo parts. The first is the experiences of applying the policy which include: the movementof land reform promotes the beginning of the new social relationship, and greatly strengthens the people's democracy consciousness; the status of woman was strengthenedthrough the land reform and the promulgation of marriage law. These two measures have agreat impact on rural clans. The Second is the summary of lessons which mainly includethe following several points: not seeking truth from facts and impatience, dampening theenthusiasm of the farmers; failing to notice that the clan relations is only temporarilyinvisible; neglecting the productive forces is the power which makes the patriarchal clanwither away.Chapter 4 is the countermeasures of dealing with the problem of patriarchal clan atpresent. Firstly, the author analyzes the reason why patriarchal clan revives at present inGuangdong, and lists the positive and negative specific performances. Then, thecountermeasures in this modem society are posed in view of the situation of thepatriarchal clan revival and the historical reference from the beginning of the foundationof the nation, including that we must seek truth from facts on the basis of nationalconditions; greatly develop the rural economy; strengthen the construction of democracyand legal system; develop the rural social security system vigorously.In the last part, the author puts forward the patriarchal clan's trend ofdevelopment.Although the patriarchal clan ingrains, the development of patriarchal clanviolates the modemization and it will wither away one day with the development ofeconomy, politics, culture and various aspects, while the whole process is very long.
