It played an overwhelmingly instructing role on theconstruction and development of U.S. navy. Undergoing over a centurylong development, the content and basic buildup of Sea Power Theoryhave received continued new elucidations and reinforcements in line withthe time. Under its instructions, the U.S. naval strategy also underwenttimely readjustments and changes. Entering the 21st century, manyimportant ideas and classical doctrines of Sea Power Theory still havegreat influences on the transformation of U.S. naval strategy oriented tothe 21st century. Apart from some traditional ideas of Sea Power Theory,there also emerged some new developments and breakthroughs stemmingfrom Sea Power Theory after the Cold War which indicate the directionand complete the content of the transformation of U.S. naval strategytowards the new century. After the Cold War, The U.S. navy has wagedseveral wars overseas which exhibit the success of new transformation ofnaval strategy.
