The making of American China Policy has long been involved in a lot of forces from various lobbyist groups. Two of those groups ever existing in the history of Sino-US relations, have or had the most outstanding influences on America's China Policy Making, the China Lobby and the New China Lobby. The former one formed in the late 1940s and devoted itself into helping Taiwan Kuomintang with gaining support from American Congress as well as common Americans. The latter one appeared in the early 1990s, and has made a lot of efforts to promote the healthy development of the Sino-US relations.This paper will not only review the members, core organizations, main issues of the two "China Lobbies", but also analyze the influences the two lobbies impose respectively on America's China Policy Making. The paper also compares the two China Lobbies, in order to further demonstrate the significant role of lobbyist activities in the making of China Policy.Considering the importance of lobbyist groups, the paper also tries to provide some suggestions about how to face the positive as well as negative influences imposed by the lobbyists, so as to maintain the smooth development of Sino-US relations. In this regard, this paper is written to contribute help to build a better tomorrow for Sino-US relationship.
