Study Of The Comprehensive Measure Of The Level Of Urbanization In Henan Province

Besides being an inexorable trend of social economic development, urbanization is an important sign of the social progress as well. Since 1990s, a great number of fierce problems faced in rural reform and development, especially "three agricultural" problem, are all directly related to urbanization. The fact that urbanization development lagged far behind has brought much barrier to the development potential of domestic demand market, industrial structure upgrading of township enterprise, and furthermore, development of the tertiary industry. Now our country begins to build a well-to-do society from all sides, accelerating the process of the urbanization undoubtedly becomes an important development strategy, and accordingly, indicator of urbanization becomes a goal pursued by local governments at all levels. But there exists great blindness. Lacking the horizontal and vertical comparison, planners of local governments fail to analyze their district status and make a logical plan from the aspect of a lager district. On the other hand, generally indicators of urbanization have much limitation and can't truly and completely reflect local urbanization level. It can only be the statement of a certain characteristic.This article, from the aspect of building a well-to-do society, makes a new definition to the urbanization .It think urbanization includes six respects: populations, space, economy, industrial structure, life style, life quality, living environment and social civilization. On the basis of many a theory such as "S" Curve theory, Centralization & Diffusion theory, Push & Pull Power of Migration theory, Center Place theory, Center-Hinterland theory and Integration of Urban-Rural Areas theory, the article fully explains the essence of urbanization, well prepared for putting forward a set appraisement indicators reflecting urbanization. It combined many indicators relating to the above six respects and develops an appraisement model. Utilizing AHP, The law of coefficient of variation, the law of Fuzzy Subordination Degree, it appraises the urbanization of seventeen cities in Henan province, and divides three levels according to their urbanization degree, and truly reflects the regional difference in urbanization. At last, related suggestions are put forward.
