This article is a feasibility study and a future visualization of utilizing trainsin"Longyan-Zhangping-Xiamen" railway line. It includes the followingparts:1. Introduction of the features, present operation and development of tilting trains. In"Londyan-Zhanping-Xiamen railway line, passenger train speed must be increased and trip time shortened in order that railway transportation may compete with high-speed highway transportation. While operating tilting EMUs is a feasible approach.2. Estimate the highest speed tilting trains can reach based in an analysis of the present "Longyan-Zhangping-Xiamen"railway line.3. Come up with the blue print of operating tilting EMUs on this line and smoothly implement it by complete organization, design and maneuvering.4. Give a technical, economic analysis and profit evaluation by estimating sales and operational cost.5. Conclusion"Longyan-Zhangping-Xianmen" railway line is a typical of mountainous railway. It demands huge investment to reconstruct railway ground to operate common trains. However, tilting trains under these conditions, show a technical edge. Tilting trains claim a cost not so huge and it can increase operation speed by 25% and to a large extent shorten trip time.The development of local economic brings potential passengers. Railway transportation is able to enjoy bigger market share if it can shorten trip time, produce good sales scheming and provide quality service. Operating tilting EMUs may bring both economic profit and social profit. Form a higher point of view, running-tilting trains is the future of China's railway transportation.
