| The traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which has an over 5000-year history is a treasure of China. In history ,China was called as " the kingdom of herbs" and the herb industry is a very important part of the medicine market. During a long period, there are almost 130 countries importing our herbs and patent medicines. But with the rising value of TCM,which is thought of highly by the foreign countries, and with the development in the researches of the plant drugs in recent years, " the foreign Chinese Medicine" (manufactured by foreign countries, which employs high technology and fits the international standard), is entering our medicine markets when the tariff barriers are decreasing because our country has joined the WTO. This brings a great impact on our TCM industry, and the outlet of TCM is sliding per year. Now our TCM products share only 5% in the international market. Our TCM industries are facing a severe challenge. How to keep our preceding status and grasp the opportunity to lead our TCM toward the world is the purpose of the paper. The first chapter of the paper is an analysis of the production-management status, industrial environments, productive capacity of our TCM industries and market patterns in China and abroad. The prospect of the TCM export is very good with the increasing needs of the foreign TCM markets and the communication which is increasing between the east and the west, and with the idea of " go back to nature" rising. At present, the main problem of the outlet and production of the TCM lies in the poor level of labor business and in that the products are not fit the international standards. The second chapter of the paper discusses the competitions in the TCM industries. The article points out that our TCM industries have a preponderance of natural resources and experts, and the inferior positionis the lack in new ideas and . techniques in our products. Now we can say that our TCM industries face a series of chances, such as the strong support from the government and the big market. At the same time, our TCM industries also face a lot of challenges coming from "the foreign Chinese Medicine" and the inefficiency of their own running system. The third chapter of the paper is about the five macroscopic strategies of developing the TCM industrials: 1.Accelerating the set-up of the information system of the TCM industries in order to catch up with the changes in the foreign herbs markets, and to help the TCM go into the world quickly. 2. Helping the TCM industries set up the products at a large scale in order to manufacture high quality and standard products. 3. Collectivizing the TCM industries through conglomeration, recombination and association, then optimizing the natural and human resources and reinforcing the enterprises in order to research new drugs. 4.Adopting the progressive technologies to manufacture the modern TCM. 5. Establishing the international standardization of the TCM so as to clear away the barriers of outlet. The fourth chapter of the paper is about the six microscopic countermeasures of developing the TCM industries : 1. Creating the system of quality standards, establishing our own standards of the TCM and making them accepted by the world. 2. Promoting the industrialization of the TCM. 3. Improving the levels of the manufacture and supervision on the drinking-sheets of the TCM. 4.Paying more attention to the property rights of the TCM. 5. Stimulating creations in the TCM industries. 6.Reinforcing the marketing capability of the TCM industries through renewing the marketing ideas, pursuing famous brand marketing. |
