With the unceasing increase in chemical fertilizer yield at home and abroad, and changes in farmer' consumption ideal and purchase habits as well as the agriculture restructuring by state, the chemical fertilizer enterprises in our country, in particular the large chemical fertilizer enterprises, are facing a good opportunity and also a severe challenge as well. therefore, the chemical fertilizer enterprises shall, on one hand ,ensure proper operation of the existing plants to produce high quality, low costs and competitive products, and on the other hand, work out a practical development strategy proceeding from their respective characteristics and actual conditions so as to put themselves in invincible positions in the future competition by making themselves developed unceasingly and powerful.Sichuan Tianhua Joint Stock Co.Ltd, as a backbone chemical fertilizer enterprise in our country, has experienced a shift from the planned economy market economy, and from the state-owned enterprise to a shareholding system enterprise. however, since establishment of the Company is not long, with limited time and energy ,the Company can only accommodate itself to the situation passively for the tome being, lacking of an overall and long term planning for the enterprise's survival and development in the future. Facing up to a more intensified competition in the market, in case there isn't an overall strategic thought as a guidance, the enterprise will lose its way and goal, and finally not know what course to take. By reason of a long-term management work in the company's construction and production, the author of this paper is quite aware of the company in all aspects. Based on this reason, the author selected this subject, hoping it would be of great benefit to the company's future development.By attempting to apply the general principles of strategic management, proceeding from analyzing the macro environments, trade status and interior factors that the Company are facing, this paper has summed up the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and threats that the Company has and faces, and based on these, put forward some of the author's opinions on the Company's future development strategy and the countermeasures to be taken for achieving such a strategy.This paper is mainly divided into three(3) parts: The first three(3) chapters mainly analyze the macro environments, trade status and interior factors that the Company are facing. It can be seen it that after China's entry into WTO, the chemical fertilizer trade has almost been involved in the market competition equally at home and abroad. And as a large chemical fertilizer enterprise, the Company shall have a correct recognition of its position among the trade, and the comprehensive power it has. The Company shall, on one hand, foresee the challenges it will face up; The Company shall, on the other hand shall see clearly the opportunities it has; The Company shall, on the one hand, develop itself unceasingly and become powerful, and on the other hand shall not act blindly; The Company shall, on one hand, make clear its target, and on the other hand shall respect the facts. Based on the foregoing analysis, chapter 4 has summed up and concluded the advantages disadvantages opportunities and threats the Company has so as to make this paper well organized.
