| The target of management is one of the most important subjects that every manager in the state-owned commercial banks should consider first. Only by establishing the clear and definite target can you carry on effectively.This article consists of four parts. Part one explains that the target of management of the Chinese state-owned commercial banks is to maximize its profit. First, it refers to the content of that target. Second, it explains why it is the target of the state-owned commercial banks. Because it is the way to realize the enterprising management, to exist and develop competitively, and to improve the level of management. Part two of this article refers to the relationship between social benefit and commercial bank's profit target. They are integrate and interdependent under socialism system. Further, it explains how to handle the relationship between the profit target of commercial banks and social benefit. Part three explains in order to realize the target of management the government should improve external conditions for commercial banks. Part four, which is the most important part of this article, explains how to achieve that target in the present circumstances. That is, to improve its internal management. First, it analyzes the present status of Chinese state-ownedcommercial banks. Then, it refers to several management strategies to achieve that target, that is, to develop its business, to focus on improvement of quality, to compete intellectually, to pay more attention to service, personnel, and science and technology etc. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance to facilitate the internal control and operating system in order to achieve the target. The article puts forward some suggestions on several sectors, such as organization location and development, capital operation system, financial operation and management system, internal control system, and security etc. |
