Research On The Influence Of Network Participation On Political Stability

One of the most important features of modern democratic politics is the citizen’s political participation,which also is the basic requirement of modernpolitic civilization.And, political participation can be indispensable in order to operate the modern political system normally. Now days, China stands in a critical period of comprehensively deepening reform, and all aspects of our nation are seeking new breakthroughto adapt to the needs of the development of current society, such as politic, society, culture, economic. The demand for the development of China’s current political system calls for the widening of citizen’s political participation.Meanwhile, the information revolution, represented by Internet technology, has been imposing strong influence on citizen’s life. The development of Internet technology has infiltrated into every aspect of people’s life, which is totally unexpected before. Network has not only changed people’s life style and thought pattern, but also brought great impact on the political system,and the influence is incalculable. Internet revolution changed the operation mode of original political system. Especially it has opened a new brand new way for citizens’ participation in public affairs.In the process of traditional citizen’s political participation, well-organized political participation will play a positive role to the stability of political system. On the contrary, the chaotic political participation will be a negative impact on political stability, furthermore, a result of clumsy participation may lead to social change. In the Internet era, all the characteristics of traditional political participation will always been enlarged on the net.Network, as a new politicaldevelopmentplatform, has changed the interchange between the government and the public. The Internet with itstechnical characteristics such as, secretiveness, openness, interactivity, equality, low cost, provides citizens with equal status in the political participation process so as to obtain political demands and realize their own interests. And in this process, how to keep the online political participation maintaining a positive role, inhibit its negative impact on political stability, has become a problem to solve. This article firstly introduce the arisen of online political participation, the development and the statusquo of online political participation in China’s overall situation.Then the article respectively enumerated the challenges and positive impact on China’s political stability. In the third part,what course to follow in the era of network political participation will be discussed.
