Hu jintao attaches great importance to the development of Social livelihood issues and focuses on solving the problem of society and people’s livelihood since the 17th National People’s Congress. With the further development of reforming and opening up, the society is developing, but at the same time some disharmonious phenomena have appeared:social gap between the rich and the poor is growing, unbalanced education is developing, people are having difficulty in getting medical service, etc. Hu jintao puts forward a series of the social thought of the people’s livelihood which includes education, employment, income distribution, social security and health to solve the practical problems existing in the development of society.Hu jintao’s social livelihood of the people thought has its historical origin and theoretical origin. These social policies strengthen all aspects of social development, ensuring and improving the social livelihood of the people effectively. The contemporary value of the Hu jintao’s people’s livelihood thought of society is that it provides reference for the present education, employment, social security, income distribution, and health care social policy. Meanwhile, it provides with sufficient theoretical support and practical guidance when the government makes related social policies.
