Pengcheng Liu Family refers to Liu Hui and his son Liu Xiaochuo together with their family members whose primary activity was during Qi and Liang in the Southern Dynasties. Liu Family, whose literary activities and literary achievements play an important role in literature of the Southern Dynasties, is the leader of the literary families in the Southern Dynasties. This paper is intended to investigate the literary development and achievement of Pengcheng Liu Family through the inspection of the cultural context of literary production in Qi and Liang Dynasties, and to peep at the literary interaction and infection among royalty and aristocratic families in the Southern Dynasties.This paper consists of four parts. The first part is an introduction, which gives a brief description of the family, literary families in Six Dynasties and Pengcheng Liu Family including the related research results and research methods; The first chapter, as the second part, presents a survey of Pengcheng Liu Family, including their native place, Chinese surname, lineage, works, family history, circle of friends and so on; The second chapter, as the third part, examines the Liu Family in the context of the entire literary world of Qi and Liang Dynasties, and expatiates on the literary interaction between the Liu Family and the royal literary group under the social and cultural background in Qi and Liang Dynasties; The third chapter, as the fourth part, selects Liu Xiaochuo, Liu Xiaowei and Liu Xiaoyi in the Liu Family for literary case studies. In addition, the appendix of the paper, including a selection of the family deeds in chronological order and a compilation of reviews of the family through the ages, historically demonstrates the Liu Family from the perspective of literary documents.
