Family Instructions are a kind of language tools which are emplyed to educate,supervise, or admonish family members,including verbal instructions and written instructions.Usually,Family Instructions have one character of exhorting or restraining at least.Chinese classical(traditional) Family Instructions specifically refers to such written language tools in the ancient times of china,like prose and verse and so on. This dissertation mainly discusses the names, origin, functions,stylistic characteristics,cultural connotations, literary values of Family Instructions in the Han Dynasties from the perspectives of stylistics, culture and literature.The introduction mainly explains the important status of consanguinity relation in historical and cultrual background of china, in which family and government are isomorphic.Moreover, important position in the literature and research status quo of consanguinity love literature are talked about; reasons of the topic choosen ,reseach insignificance and method of the dissertation writing are involved ,too.The body of this dissertation has five chapters. The Chapter One discusses name's connotations, stylistic classification, characteristics , functions of Jiaxun and its origins in the pre-Qin period.For the sake of exhibiting general picture of family instructions and bringing more convenience in the reseach, this dissertation classfies family instructions in seven ways,and according to different criterions ,most family instructions belong to practical prose and argumentation style. family instructions holding'wen'and'bi'also is a literary style per se.It is including many sub-styles such as Jiachi,Jiajie,Jiashu,Yiling,Jiaxun in the Han Dynasties.Since Yan Shi Jia Xun appeared,Jiaxun has gradually become a prevail name of all kind of language tools about education and management in families.Jiaxun style not only delivers family love, spreads moral value,carrys informations about its epoch and writer,but that it has the functions of cultivating embracers'morality,propering family even country.It's notable characteristics are its unambiguous emplying purposes ,its clear receivers and its speciality of exhorting,restricting, sociality ,zeitgeist and its hereditable life experience.Jiaxun has a long history.Pangeng's first admonishing article in Shang Shu is one of the earliest Jiaxun prose in china history.The second section explores achievements and history status of Jiaxun in the Han dynasties. In the Western Han dynesty,Jiaxun got some breakthrough development and long articles which wrote to clear receiver appeared, though its quantity is relatively small. When Jiaxun developped to the last 200 years of Han dynesties,it presented a trend of vast content and more written instructions,exhibited some stereotypical characteristics in its gradually maturing process.The particular cultural connotations and literary value of Jiaxun in the Han dynesties was influenced by its special history and culture.The third and the forth chapter mainly analyze and reseach these Jiaxun works from cultural and literary aspects. Confucianism ,Daoism,quoting from confucian classics,combining Confucianism and Daoism in one writer's thoughts are significative cultrual characteristics of Family Instructions in the Han Dynesties. Furthermore,conception of simple Funeral and buries is reflected in the teachings of the deceased.Meanwhile ,woman insructions in this times usually full of Consanguinity love,teaching female family members how to behave properly in the situation of male political power was strengthen otherwise female's social status was declining,seldom including the content of initiative propagandizing about man privilege. Moreover,literature feature of Jiaxun in the Han dynesties are composed of many factors,such as rich and colorful self-image,natural,implicit watery but genuine sentiments,various configuration techniques, language arts and so on.Not every Jiaxun has all these factors,but the excellence articles are provided with them.Just for these literary features and the excellence articles,Jiaxun in the Han dynesties possesses some eindelible literary value.In the end, the dissertation expounds the influnence of Jiaxun in the Han dynesties to the literature of Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynesties from several aspects.First,instructing contents, methods and patterns are followed in latter periods.Second,the infection of Dongfangshuo's Jiaxun article to the literators'lifestyle of'zhaoyin'and'zhaoyin'theme in literature are explainded. the last one is ahout the conscious of expressing self's emotions in Jiaxun of Han dynesties and the recognition of individual emotion in the literary history of Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties. In one word,even though the influences are very tiny,family instructions in the Han Dynesties as a indispensable link in developing process of Jiaxun style and a component part of chinese prose,it can not be neglected in research of classical literature.
