In the middle of the nineteenth century England aestheticism movement is the outcome of the modern western cultural transformation, is a kind of new cultural value system for building the positive attempt. Although the duration of the campaign is not long, but its influence is formidable, to some extent, can create a western modernist literature. The art of aestheticism has set up independent flags, but also for contemporary literary theory of the 20th century was initially established a theoretical basis. Irish Oscar Wilde's a representative figure of the movement, his aesthetic ideas are often regarded as the posterity of aestheticism representative. The twentieth century after the Wilde, Irish literature achieved unprecedented prosperity emerged, including George Bernard Shaw, Joyce, Yeats, Beckett, a large number of the influence of the writer, due to their different style, also involves more than poetry, drama and fiction, therefore, of the 20th century to the Irish literature comparative study of 20th century to understanding the whole situation of Irish literature, but also to study the 20th century western literature has the extremely vital significance.
