The tombs of Wei-Jin Dynasties discovered in the territory of Jiayuguan of Gansu province have been proved to be tombs of one big family and the fresco inside are well kept and of a lot of artistic value. The fresco of Jiayuguan has particular contents and is quite different from portrait painting and fresco of Han dynasty. The form is simple but concise and lofty. It reflects the spirit of freehand brushwork in Chinese traditional painting that the conception without me in is there within us all the while but meaning grasped words forgotten. Also embodies the style and feather of the people of Jin Dynasty. This article reviews the spirit of that age and the achievement of philosophy, culture and arts through appreciating the fresco of Jiayuguan. Then we can have a deeper understanding to the presence and the sense of beauty of people of that age. Furthermore, we can deepen and widen the understanding to the verve beauty of Chinese Culture through that. Also it's of the meaning of illumination and enlightenment to the aesthetic practice.
