During the period of Pre-Qin, among the philosophers, Mozi is the founder of Mohism and Confucius is the founder of Confucianism. Both Mohism and Confucianism are called Famous Schools of Thought.Mozi's thought,particularly with regard to the thought of creation, is drawn great attention from the mass, not only because Mozi and Mohist have high social standing at that time, but also because he is a giant with rich experience. We can say, Mozi is the first great thinker on artificial design in Chinese history. Mohism,a profound academic ideology,was widely spread during the period of Pre-Qin and produced a great impact on the society, but after having flourished for more than two centuries, it suddenly became silent.ln the past nearly two thousand years, it was almost forgotten. However, it seems to be in a sudden that Mohism is quickly recovered, and lead to a rush on the study of it. Most of the studies of Mohism is still limited to philosophy, esthetics and sociology. There are less studies from the point of view of artificial design.From the aspects of attitude, process, practice, system management and evaluation, I conducted a research on Mozi's thought of artificial design, and compared it with Bauhaus design, the current concept of artification as well as personal style. Through the comparison, I drew a conclusion that the thought also has vitality and dynamism in the information age, and offers a essential guidance for our present artificial design.With the proposition of acting on the laws of nature and improving the matters of the world, the inflexible exploration that Mozi has for natural science and artificial design is unprecedented on aspects and achievement.His discovery, invention and creation exceeded the level of those days, and some of them became the pioneer of the world, which make him deserve the title of leader and saint who is the first one willing to explore science and technology. So-called "giant", is not only for the respect of saint, but also for edifying the modern artificial design, which influence the whole field due to the real practical theory.
