Chinese Sui History Research

The emperors, politicians, sketch novelists and eulogistic poets of Tang Dynasty make a lot of comments on the history and the characters of the Sui Dynasty, many of which have much value as historical records. Comprehensively compiles and collates these historical data, and classifies and summarizes them, can provide a valuable reference for the research of the history of the Sui Dynasty.This paper can be divided into five parts:Introduction part mainly talks about the significance and current situation of this research. This part studies the Sui Dynasty's influence on afterworld from the perspective of the Tang Dynasty scholar and understands the Sui Dynasty's history from a definitely new perspective, while it provides a new research method for us to study the history of the Sui Dynasty and develops a new way for the exploration of the Historic Theory.The first chapter expounds the Sui Dynasty's history view of emperor in the early Tang Dynasty. Tang Dynasty inherited the system of Sui Dynasty, so short-lived Sui Dynasty gave Tang Dynasty a wake-up call. This chapter first introduces the formation background of the early Tang Dynasty emperors'reference of Sui Dynasty's history, followed by the introduction of the Emperor Gaozu of Tang and Emperor Taizong of Tang's reference of Sui Dynasty's history. From the criticism and summary to Emperor Wen of Sui, Emperor Yang of Sui and the death of Sui Dynasty, we can see these two emperors of Tang Dynasty's reference of the Sui Dynasty's history and the application of the realistic politics.The second chapter describes the Sui Dynasty's history view of politicians in Tang Dynasty. Politicians'different view of history on Sui Dynasty in early and the Middle and Later Tang Dynasty are introduced respectively, which present the difference and change of their views, and in this way, more accurately understand and grasp of theirs knowledge on the Sui Dynasty's history are achieved.The third chapter deals with the Sui Dynasty's history view in Tang Dynasty's Literary Sketches. Literary Sketch is one of the major highlights of Tang Dynasty, which also contains knowledge and research that a large number of Tang dynasty did on Sui Dynasty's history. Through the description and comparison of the image of Emperor Wen, Emperor Yang and other images and events of Sui Dynasty in Tang's Literary Sketches, this chapter presented the views and perspective in the Tang Dynasty's Literary Sketches on Sui Dynasty's characters and events.The fourth chapter elaborates on the Sui Dynasty's history view of the Tang Dynasty's eulogistic poets. Through the assortment and Study of eulogistic poetry in"The Complete Poetry of Tang Dynasty"and the compilation of opinions about Sui Dynasty in it, this chapter shows some studies and views that Tang Dynasty's eulogistic poets have made on the Sui Dynasty.The conclusion part mainly talks about the characteristics of the Tang dynasty's views on Sui Dynasty's history. During the early Tang Dynasty, people's views on Sui Dynasty's history mainly focused on the political reference of Sui Dynasty, however, after period of Middle and Later Tang Dynasty, people's views on the Sui Dynasty focused on the further creation and smear on Emperor Yang of Sui.
